Dr. Ruth Smith is a clinical social worker and educator, and is a health and disabilities consultant located in Western Massachusetts. She has worked in the field of disabilities and health care in both the public and private arena for many years. Dr. Smith has experience working with a variety of disabilities, and working with individuals of all ages and their families. In addition, she has been involved in health and disabilities policy issues and participated in several state and other agency advisory committees.
Dr. Smith was has been Senior Faculty at Cambridge College at both the Springfield and Cambridge locations in the graduate programs of Counseling Psychology and Health Management, Assistant Professor at the Shriver Center of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Department of Pediatrics, and taught at the Simmons College of Social Work, Hebrew College, and Suffolk University. Over the course of her professional career, she has presented at many conferences in the social work, and health and disabilities fields.
